Their tomb was brought from late 13c Umberleigh chapel of the Holy Trinity founded by his great grandmother Joan Champernowne, after it was demolished in early 19c He was the great grandson of Sir Ralph de Willington d pre 1260 & Joan heiress of Sir William Champernowne of Umberleigh c.1240, by Eve daughter of Rainald de Whitchurch. Ralph was the son of John de Willington, 1st Lord of Umberleigh who died pre 1338, & Joan daughter of John de Neville They are thought to be Ralph 2nd lord of Umberleigh dsp 1348/9 & wife Eleanor Mohun 1349 Table tomb, once painted, now placed on a high modern base between the north chapel and the chancel altar with the effigies of a mid 14c knight & lady, the subject of graffiti vandalism including "IR 1724"
